As an organization that focuses on improving lives, we prioritize the Core Values program—an employee-to-employee recognition initiative that celebrates those who consistently demonstrate one or more core values in the workplace—as a quintessential way to achieve this mission. When employees embody one or more of our three core values: Hard Work with Balance, Energetic to Achieve, and Compassionate, they create a company culture where they can thrive!
But creating a thriving company culture isn’t all we’re doing to improve lives. Rehab Industries also rewards employees for consistently embodying our core values. Employees who receive the highest number of impactful nominations by the end of each year have an opportunity to go on the Excellence Club trip, as well as be recognized at the company’s Annual Conference! These rewards are the company’s way of expressing its heartfelt gratitude to those who not only want to positively impact and improve the lives of those we serve, but to also positively impact their peers and community.
How Our Core Values Were Developed
Given that the core values program is one of the most notable and celebrated programs throughout Rehab Industries, we’d like to highlight how the core values program came to be and what makes the program such a success.
When the ‘improve lives’ mission was created by the leadership team, they also wanted to create a support system that helped everyone align towards the mission. Drawing inspiration from individuals who exhibited values they believed would not only benefit patients, but also promote employee growth and development, they established three key core values:
Energetic to Achieve
Displaying the motivation to accomplish tasks, having initiative, and helping others to be successful in their roles.
Hard work with Balance
Displaying a work ethic that entails giving one hundred percent each day and going home to enjoy life outside of work.
Compassionate
Displaying behaviors that promote a sense of emotional connection with co-workers and our end-users with the goal of improving all lives every single day.
How We Live Our Core Values as an Organization
If you’ve noticed a teammate exemplifying any one of our core values, we encourage you to nominate them for a core value award. This year, your peers have been embodying our core values more than ever and we’ve had an overwhelming number of submissions that truly represent how every one of us is carrying out the improve lives mission. Check out some of the most notable nominations we’ve received so far.
Energetic to Achieve
Mike Kienholz, Forza team
I wanted to nominate Mike Kienholz for the Energetic to Achieve award. He has been instrumental in supporting the marketing team as we helped prepare for the opening of the new Rehab HQ office. His communication expertise offered to us as we collaborate on projects has helped our team to excel and create some exciting projects in an efficient manner – none of which would have been made possible with his support. I can speak for the entire team when I say THANK YOU to Mike!
Kerry Favia, Cork Medical Cincinnati team
Kerry Favia acts with the utmost professionalism. She balances hard work, commitment and a bit of necessary aggressiveness to have a very well worked territory. She is a model employee. The entire organization can and does learn a lot from interacting with Kerry.
Hard Work with Balance
Terrell Williams, Rehab Medical Corporate team
Terrell Williams is one of the most positive, upbeat people I talk to. He has the best attitude and is willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done. He is so kind and has such a great heart behind his work. We are very fortunate to have Terrell on our team!
Ron Fishback, Cork Medical Corporate team
Ron Fishback was covering for his supervisor while he was out for two weeks. I saw Ron work tirelessly doing his job and the job of his supervisor to keep his team motivated, happy, and productive. Ron, all of your hard work did not go unnoticed. Thanks for all that you do!
Compassionate
Brittani Simms, Cork Medical Corporate team
"When another coworker lost an important person in her life, Brittani didn't hesitate to go out of her way to let this employee know her coworkers were thinking of her during her difficult time. Thank you, Brittani, for making your teammates feel loved."
Daniel Sloan, Rehab Medical Augusta Georgia team
I would like to nominate Daniel Sloan for a core value. While I could choose any of the three values, I would specifically like to nominate him for compassion. Augusta was hit with bad weather/a hurricane and Daniel made sure his employees and patients were taken care of. After making sure his employees were safe, he adjusted schedules to accommodate our patients. He drove 140 miles round trip to fill up gas cans, so the technicians had gas in their vans to service our patients. He is a true leader! Thank you, Daniel, for all that you do to take care of Augusta. Appreciate you, Shelley :)
How Have Your Peers Embraced Our Core Values?
Let us know by submitting a Core Value nomination. When you submit a nomination, the employee who is recognized will receive a core value pin and placard, a shoutout in the employee newsletter, and a chance for them, and a guest of their choosing, to go on an all-expenses paid trip to a tropical destination outside the continental U.S.!
