HR Program Spotlight – ATP Mentorship Program

No one truly grows alone, which is why we’ve created the ATP Mentorship Program. A structured, hands-on initiative that equips aspiring Assistive Technology Professionals with real-world guidance and feedback from experienced ATPs. The program provides two types of support: clinical mentorship to develop ATP competency and business mentorship to navigate the day-to-day realities of the role. Together, these elements offer a powerful mix of knowledge, accountability, and encouragement.

One example of the program’s success is the relationship between Louis McDonald, an ATP Mentor in San Antonio, and Mike Martinez, a Sales Representative currently undergoing the ATP competency process.

“Louis is incredibly thorough during evaluations,” Mike shared. “He takes his time, asks the right questions, and always factors in the full clinical picture. His professionalism really stood out to me. I’ve learned so much just by watching how he handles assessments.”

Mike also highlighted how the program has helped him grow both personally and professionally. “Having an experienced ATP to bounce ideas off and get feedback from has been a huge help. It’s given me structure and support while I’m learning, and it’s sped up my development.”

For Louis, becoming a mentor was all about giving back. “I remember being new and not knowing if I was making the right decisions. Now, I get to share the lessons I’ve learned to help someone else feel confident and prepared. Mike has reminded me how important it is to slow down, stay patient-focused, and stay grounded in our purpose.”

The ATP Mentorship Program is part of our RISE initiative, which supports employee development, wellness, and empowerment across Rehab Industries. It’s one more way we live out our mission to improve lives, not just for our patients, but for the people who serve them.
