The ATP Career Advancement Program provides a structured path for new ATPs to advance their careers while gaining hands-on experience in assessing, fitting, and delivering complex equipment. The program ensures ATPs develop confidence and expertise through mentorship, training, and supervised practice.

Once you’ve received your certification, join the ATP Career Advancement Program.

  • Obtain your ATP Certificate.

  • Notify your manager & HR through this link.

  • Join the ATP Career Advancement Program and complete the ATP Competency Process - designed to help you gain hands-on experience and build confidence in assessing, measuring, and fitting patients for complex equipment.

What's Included

 

Before an ATP can assess, measure or fit patients for equipment, they must complete the ATP Competency process as outlined below. This Program is needed to give you the confidence, skills, and direction to properly assess and fit patients for complex equipment, all while being done in a training environment.

ATP Competency Process (New ATPs) *

  1. 5 evaluations shadowing ATP mentor

  2. 5 evaluations with collaboration between “new” ATP and “Mentor” ATP

  3. 10 evaluations with the new ATP leading the process and the Mentor ATP supervising

  4. 5 deliveries of complex equipment– This can be done at any time during the competency process

  5. Internal ATP competency exam (85% passing) - This can be done at any time during the competency process. This test will be given by ATP Development Specialist at your request.

 

*Self-tracking of patients seen must be completed on the portal. If not documented, it does not count.

Applying For A New Position as an ATP

 

Once the ATP Career Advancement Program is completed, you can apply for other positions, assuming tenure is met. If you wish to transition into a new position with your ATP certification, please be advised if there if no position is available in your current market, you must be willing to relocate to a market that does have a vacancy. Either way, each ATP must go through the interview process and must be offered the position by the hiring manager.

Types of ATP Positions

 

ATP Tech = Delivery Technician that has ATP Certification. $28 hourly rate

  • ATP Certification

  • Ability and desire to make deliveries and take great care of patients

 

ATP Support = Fit patient for equipment and deliveries as needed. $80,000 + Commission

  • Must complete Internal ATP Competency Program

  • Minimum 1 year as sales or technician role

  • 6 months minimum with ATP

  • CEU – Standard requirement

 

ATP Sales = Build relationships with referral sources while having a sales quota. Must complete the Internal ATP Competency Program if performing evaluations. $72,000 + Commissions

  • Minimum 1 year in a Sales Role or Technician Role

  • Complete ATP Competency Program (not required if ATP Sales doesn’t perform own evaluations, however, highly recommended).

 

*ATP Sales Management does requires completing the career advancement program
