Mentorship Program

The framework below is a suggested flow for six meetings with your mentee. Action items can be interchanged as needed. Please incorporate introducing mentee to others within meetings or in-between. If both the mentee and mentor work in the same area, at least one of the six meetings should be a coffee/soda meeting and one should be a lunch meeting.

 

Throughout this process, the mentor is expected to introduce the mentee to 5-10 key people in the organization who may have an impact on their success. This should be a mix of senior leadership, a success story in a similar role, and employees they will collaboratively work with who is not necessarily part of their day-to-day role.

 

First Meeting

  • Get to know your mentee

    • Professional journey, hobbies, family, etc...

  • Share about yourself

  • Discuss company past, present, and future

  • Take your mentee on a tour

    • Introduce them to other team members, discuss other departments and how your mentee might work with them. If virtual, introduce them to the org chart and point out key people.

 

Second Meeting

  • Discuss our Core Values and the meaning of each

  • Review the nomination process

  • Share about the Excellence trip

    • Core Value eligibility and department metrics.

 

Third Meeting

  • Discuss Financial/Wellness-related employee engagement programs:

    • Your Money Line - make sure your mentee signs up for Stability Assessment.

    • HSA Incentive (for those on our medical benefits) - show list of activities to choose from and encourage mentee to create an HSA account, if signing up for health insurance.

  • Remind mentee of our Employee Assistance Program

 

Fourth Meeting

  • Discuss LEAD as an option for all new managers

    • Explain the commitment to leadership development.

  • Discuss other positions in company

    • hare examples of team members who have grown into other positions.

 

Fifth Meeting

  • Discuss past and upcoming team engagement/community service events

    • Share examples of both small and large engagement events for your team and broader company events.

    • Share calendar invitations or dates.

  • Remind mentee of Tuition Reimbursement Program

    • 50% reimbursement up to $2,000 annually.

    • ATP certification included in this.

 

Sixth Meeting

  • Discuss learnings over the past 6 weeks and answer any questions

    • Optional - discuss method/frequency of contact going forward.

    • Complete mentor feedback form at conclusion of 6 weeks.
